Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
Nonet for Ash Wednesday
Remembering that we are but dust
Without our Creator’s mercy
Is honest, not morbid, when
It turns us to the cross,
To the death that brings
Our salvation –
Unending
Love-filled
Life.
Lovely.

My brain doesn’t work well at night. I read through your nonet, but I couldn’t just let the words fly by. I read it again at least five times, slowing down to really take it in. It is beautiful. This was a lovely way to end a day when I had ashes on my forehead from noon to bedtime.

This is so lovely! Thanks for sharing. On Ash Wednesday I saw a lovely music video on Instagram @goodshepherdny … a song by Paul Zach of Psalm 90 … it fits perfectly with this nonet.
