From the rising of the sun to its setting the name of the Lord is to be praised.
Psalm 113:3
My family and I were blessed to be able to spend last week at one of our favorite places – Sunset Beach, North Carolina. On this beach we were able to see both spectacular sunrises and amazing sunsets, bringing to mind that wonderful verse from Psalm 113. How can we not praise the name of the Lord when we see such beauty?! Here are just a few of my favorite pictures of those sunrises and sunsets, three of each:
From the rising of the sun …

To its setting …

The name of the Lord is to be praised.

Restful.

Beautiful photography and scripture. I am just curious how you can see a sunset in North Carolina which faces East towards the Atlantic. We have a sunset beach here on the West coast of Florida and do enjoy amazing opportunities for photos.

It is pretty unusual to see a sunset on the East coast. Sunset Beach happens to have an angle that allows one to see sunsets on the far right of the beach. Needless to say, it is awesome to see sunrises and sunsets on the same beach!

It’s amazing to me that just scrolling through your beautiful images and meditating on that Psalm, a sense of calm and peace was felt throughout my spirit, mind and body. Thank you for sharing the beauty you experienced as the created and Creator came together for you.

What a lovely comment, and wonderful reminder of why I/we blog – for the “mutual conversation and consolation of the brethren,” as we Lutherans have traditionally called it. I am very grateful that this post gave you the same peace that I experienced as I stood in awe of our Creator’s handiwork!
