A nonet poem is fun for me to write, in part because of its strict form. Nine lines, with the first line having nine syllables, and each line having one fewer until the last line with one syllable. This nonet was written at the end of the day, during my quiet time on our back porch. Here it is again:

A Nonet at the Close of the Day

Lord, hear my prayer to you this night:
For my family, whom I love,
For this place in which I live,
For your beloved world.
So grateful am I:
For your mercy,
For your love,
For you,
Lord.
