I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord!”
Psalm 122:1
I was filled with joy today when our congregation was finally able to return to in-person worship again! Here is a sonnet I wrote to celebrate this occasion:
The Lord’s House
How glad I was when we could say again,
“Let us now go to the house of the Lord!”
Yes, we can worship where we are, but then,
Is there a better place in all this world?
The Lord’s house, gathered with all God’s faithful,
Where generations have worshiped and prayed,
Confessed their faith, with hearts ever grateful,
This holy place, where our burdens are laid.
Our virus-imposed exile now finished,
We pray, though precautions still are needed;
We wear our masks, with joy undiminished,
Because our prayers at last are heeded.
We go to your house, our glad voices raised,
Not yet with song, but with unbridled praise.

Nice pastor. Yes this was our second week back and yes we come in with masks and social distancing. Are you guys not singing yet? That we do and have the little individually packages for communion. Blessings

No singing for us yet. We are taking a cautious approach. But it was wonderful to be together in worship again!

Beautiful altar there. We are meant for community. We are meant to be together and draw strength from each other. — Mike
