I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds.
Psalm 77:12
I am a pastor who ponders, so I thought I might share a few of these pastoral ponderings with you. To ponder, I have read, is to “think about something carefully, especially before making a decision or reaching a conclusion.” Seems like a good idea these days, doesn’t it? In this impatient world of ours, it is more challenging than ever to slow down and ponder.
This blog is my attempt to do so – to slow down, and think carefully about what is on my mind, and then to share it with you. And to do so from a particular perspective – don’t we all do so from a particular perspective? – in my case, that of a pastor. What kind of pastor? Well, a Lutheran pastor, in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, living and serving in North Carolina, who is a husband and a father and who enjoys, among other things, pondering.
Along the way, I will also share my sermon manuscripts with you, because these, too, are my attempts to ponder God’s Word with the congregation that I am called and blessed to serve as pastor. If you find yourself in Albemarle on a Sunday morning, please come and worship with us at First Lutheran Church.
But, in the meantime, thanks for stopping by. And let’s ponder our way together through God’s beloved world.
